Amy Adams

Amy Adams is a native of Colorado. She considers herself a third generation artist. Her grandfather was a painter, as well as a cartoon satirist. Her father, Timothy Brenner, is an accomplished watercolor painter living in Lakewood Colorado.

Amy studied printmaking and drawing in college, and parlayed her love of drawing into a career as a graphic designer and illustrator. In 2003 she began to study oil painting with Betty Kirin at Sugarstone Studios in Denver. Following that time, she enrolled in classes at the Denver Art Students League. She studied with nationally recognized painters Kevin Wechbach and Michelle Torrez for three years. In 2011, her family relocated to Central Ohio. Other artists Amy has studied with include Michael McEwan, Marybeth Karaus and Peggi Kroll Roberts.

Amy is represented by Sharon Weiss Gallery. She is currently an artist in residence at 24 Lincoln Street Art Studios in the Short North Arts District. She has been involved in regional and national juried art shows in Colorado, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, as well as California. Most recently, Amy’s painting “Morning Gossip” was juried into the American Impressionists National Juried Exhibition in Rockport Massachusetts.
