Margery Mitchell

Although fascinated by art as a young woman, Margery didn’t start painting until late in life.  Her artistic journey began quite by accident, when a friend insisted that she accompany her to an art class. From that experience, Margery’s passion for the arts was born. Margery works in oil, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. She enjoys painting street scenes, landscapes, seascapes and “portraits” of vibrant flowers. Margery travels extensively throughout the U. S. and Europe and is often inspired by scenes she has stumbled across in the quaint villages, cities  and country sides she has visited. Over the years Margery has studied with several nationally known artists and taken various classes and workshops.

Margery has exhibited in several venues in Columbus and Newark, Ohio, as well as Naples, Fl.  To name a few, in Ohio, she has shown at The Works Gallery (an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute) and the Ohio State University Gallery.  In Columbus, she has shown at the Highroads Gallery and Franklin Park Conservatory.  In Naples, she shows at the Von Liebig Art Center, the Pelican Bay Gallery, as well as various other venues.
