Veena Bansal has been a resident of Columbus for forty-five years. Coming from a family where creative talents were much encouraged, Veena holds a degree in Liberal Arts from India. Her first painting in the USA was a reproduction of “Pieta,” demonstrating her ability to portray the minutest details. She has done custom artwork for the CMA Decorators’ Showcase.
Veena has painted murals, screens, furniture and tiles in a variety of styles. She believes her talent is a gift from God.

“Painting is not only my passion, it is my sanity and meditation as well.”

The assurance Veena’s work evokes is the result of a life well-lived. A blend of figurative and floral paintings with abstract influences, her mixed media work is a result of past experience. Veena’s expression, her fulfillment through art, had developed slowly but steadily. While employing the ultra-technical techniques she learned in India, she continued  to push and explore to mature her style.

“The eyes I have now are so different than the eyes I had when I was nineteen or twenty. I see a lot more now which plays a vital role in my art.”
